The act of creating is something I approach in both a critical and a playful manner.

Critically, because based off my personal experiences, I believe that under certain circumstances, the act of creating something is an investment – in yourself and in others. To create requires the use of a certain amount of time and energy. Whether the time or energy is immense or minor in quantity, it is almost impossible to deny that within the process of an organic creation is to give and to receive. In my eyes, time and energy are some of the greatest currencies. With that being said, I like to sow seeds that replenish me and the environment around me, I like to sow seeds that naturally sow more seeds.

Playfully, for the fact that at the core of my creations is desire. A desire to express more, feel more, have more, and to see more. But what is ‘more’ without the mental attendance to enjoy it? Desire is a double-edged sword. One end lets you know there is a capacity to have greater or to be greater, the other end is an awareness that you are in some way unsatisfied with the present or with what you’ve already obtained. Playfulness welcomes in conscious gratitude and in my opinion a high spirit alchemizes into the greatest creations. Playfulness allows me to create and obtain my desires without desperation.
