MY JOURNEY
My journey with art began in Mabton, WA as simple charcoal doodles on wood fencing as a kid, and transformed into commissioned digital portraits of peers, friends, and family as a teen. As I continued to explore digital art and delved into abstract digital portraits, and occasional sketching, it led me to pursue a bachelor's degree in visual art at Seattle University. Initially self-taught, I expanded my artistic horizons through guidance, consistent creation, and leaving my creative comfort zone. Today, my art combines realism, neo-expressionism and abstract expressionism using a variety of mediums such as pencil, ink, paint, and archival materials. My artwork not only visually expresses emotions but also raises awareness of societal experiences as well as societal issues. Having participated in group exhibitions and completed commissioned pieces, I embrace the growth of my artistic career and hope to inspire the community that surrounds it on many levels—mentally, emotionally, spiritually, creatively, and physically.
MY INTENT
Anything is possible & in your reach, so reach.
This saying of mine is really the core of all of my creations. It is a reminder to myself that I do not have to succumb to fear. I do not have to settle for less than I truly desire. What can I obtain if I believe I can have it & put in the effort towards having it? The possibilities are endless.
As an artist I have many goals, too many to express on just one page. Though when I step back and evaluate them all, they all fall under one true mission. To nurture and respect my personal desires, as well as to help others do the same in their own life.
I truly believe that the practice of self-realization and self-love will bring us all closer to self-liberation. I feel as though it is too often that we tend to neglect the smaller pieces not realizing there would be no whole without them.
My mission is beyond what one sentence could describe, but if I had to break it down to one phrase it is to emphasize love. On all levels, love should be the core and the foundation. Love prevails all.
